Guys. Life is EXPENSIVE! Let us help you save some money. I learned about the Just Between Friends Sale when my oldest was just 6 months old & I was living in Chester County. It was a game changer then & nine (yikes how do I almost have a tween?!) it still is! JBF is my absolute go to for kids clothes, books, gear and everything in between. At this point, even my kids know "mom will find it at the sale" and if I strike out- which on rare occasion has happened- then we'll track it down in a store. I cannot overstate my love for this sale and the literal thousands of dollars it has saved me over the years.
I know you've probably heard of the JBF Sale before & maybe you've heard a mix. "It's so great!" "I do all my shopping" "It's overwhelming" "it's SO Big". And honestly, all of those are probably true. As an experienced JBFer I am here to help navigate the sale and make the most of your time. First of all, if you're planned on doing some major shopping, it's absolutely worth buying a ticket to one of the early entry times for this simple reason: all the serious shoppers and deal hunters will. If you want first crack at all the deals, you want to be there early. If you're looking for a specific or popular item, you want to get there first. This especially applies to LEGOs, shoes, outdoor gear like bikes, large baby gear & sports gear. It's not that you can't get great deals throughout the week, but the very best prices will be snagged first. The other public shopping times (Thursday, Fri Sat) are great shopping opportunities as well. There are frequent merch drops throughout the week, so while you may miss out on "first crack" at the whole sale, you can absolutely be the first to see many items brought in throughout the week. Also, the clothing racks are typically stuffed, they become easier to navigate as the sale wears on. If you're shopping Wednesday, be prepared to bring your arm muscles and accept you probably won't see every item, there's just too much. Later in the week you'll be able to easily see all of your options. Saturday night and all day Sunday are 1/2 price days. Please note: not every item will be half price, consigners have the option to keep their items at full price the entire time. However, most consigners take this option because they want their items to SELL! Half price day is perfect for someone looking for the absolutely lowest price, someone who wants to scoop up cheap books. I also use half price day to keep my first day spending under control. Super cute item my kids will love, but don't need? Priced a little higher than I'd like? Leave it & come back Sunday. If it's still there I take it as a sign the universe wants me to have it- ha!
The JBF Oaks sale is one of the largest kids consignment sales in the country. It can absolutely be over whelming which is why I've outlined tips and tricks below and JBF makes easy to follow maps so you know exactly where to find items on your list. Most importantly, just give yourself time (and bring a cart!). The worst shopping experience I've had is trying to make decisions when I'm stressed for time, it's just not fun. Grab a friend to bounce ideas off, divide & conquer and get saving!

A few shopping tips for the Spring Sale:
- Rain Gear. Rain jackets, boots, umbrellas, and more. Plus, these make great Easter basket gifts for those looking to avoid tons of candy!
- St Paddy's, Easter, Mother's Day, 4th of July, & Family Picture Outfits. Holiday outfits are always great to grab at the JBF Sale. Kids wear them for such a short time and they can be expensive! These items are typically very gently used and high quality.
- Books, puzzles, and learning activities. Perfect for stuffing Easter baskets, end of the school year gifts, and to break out over the summer to help fight the "summer slide".
- Pool & Beach Gear. Life jackets, baby floats, beach cover ups (wearable towels), sand toys, sun shades for infants, and all things for water fun!
- Outdoor toys & sporting goods. From sporting equipment to inflatable pools; there's no shortage of outdoor fun to be had this summer. Snag a bike, yard game, balls, bats, shovels and pails and be ready for outdoor fun. Not to mention sporting equipment can cost a small fortune- especially if your child is just trying out a new sport or camp this summer.
- Backpacks. The 2026 fall sale won't be held until September- after the first day of school. Score some early deals this spring.
- Plan Ahead. As you put away winter clothes, take a quick inventory of what your kids will need now through fall. Are they likely to "size-up" in the next six months? If so, you'll want to be sure to buy clothes in both sizes.

- Find your "run": Understand how the sale is loaded/organized. JBF is made up of individual consigners who make their own sale prices. They bring their items in & load them onto the racks. Which means, when you're searching through racks all of a consigners shirts/pant will likely be together. If you find a clump of clothes that you think are over priced, skip down a few feet. The best shopping expereince at JBF is finding a well priced run that matches your kid's style! Pro Tip: often the hangers are all the same style/color in a "run".
Tips for successfully navigating this massive sale:
- Proper planning. Take advantage of spring cleaning and use our checklist to help you go in with a plan.
- Decide which day to attend. If you're after hot ticket items (outdoor equipment, shoes, diapers, kids furniture, etc) you may want to go the 1st day or grab a ticket for Saturday night merch drop. Looking for the best deal and not set on a particular item? Get there early on Sunday for the 1/2 price sale!
- Clean out your car so you have plenty of room if you stumble upon a larger, unexpected find.
- Bring a cart. A beach cart, laundry basket on a rope, clothing rack. Something. You don't want to carry everything around.
- Utilize the hold station and ask for assistance if needed. There are tons of helpful team members throughout the sale who will gladly help you navigate the sale. Plus, the hold station is a game changer for mid sized items- especially if you forget a cart.
- Give yourself extra time. Shopping always takes longer than I think it will. Plus, there are times where the line can get pretty long (although, I do have to say the new system implemented in the fall really cut down wait times!). Give yourself a good buffer of time so you have time to shop, edit, and get through checkout. This way you can take the time to make proper choices, hunt down wish list items shop without cutting your shopping short or making hurried decisions because you're cutting it close to pick up time.
