Each week we'll take an inside look at a local library (primarily the children's sections). We'll explore the set up, toys offered, local museum passes and specialty items you may want to check out!
This week brought us to William Jeanes Memorial Library in Lafayette Hill. After 7+ years of publishing this Macaroni KID edition, I was very excited to visit because this library consistently offers interesting and engaging high quality programming. I had a feeling it would be a special place and it did not disappoint. First of all, the toy selection is amazing. My three year old was highly entertained and in no hurry to leave. The children's section is the entire bottom floor and is packed with communal areas, creative spaces and of course- books! One note is parking. We arrived after story time began, which, combined with losing a few spaces to the recent snowfall, most likely led to the full parking lot. That being said, there were no available spots when we arrived. The main street does not have parking available, so we waited for a space to open and then enjoyed our afternoon. I would say if you plan on attending a library program, leave a little extra time for parking! On a positive, the larger side lot has 1st floor door with access directly into the children's floor. The main library entrance does offer stairs or an elevator to get down to the children's area.
